The Beach

* Last night Tom and I watched "The Old Man and the Sea" It reminded me of the ocean and Dad, I miss him.
* Today I want to take Grandma to the cemetery
*This morning is crystal clear, I am going up on the hill to look for the yellow wild flowers
* Sweet little Jace ended up in the hospital last night, I am so glad Jamie is there to take care of him. When Jamie ran up the stairs in the night she found Dax sitting up next to Jace saying "Come on Jace, now breath". How frightening for all of them. Thank heavens for doctors and hospitals.
* A tender reverent friendship with God must be our first priority.

Be calm

* There is huge difference between a winter snow storm and a spring one. Today I am watching the snow fall, but I know is will quickly melt, and turn into the greenness of spring.
* The Marcela sauce at Carrabias is devine
* Matt called to thank us for his own Carrabias, he was alone, I hated to leave him
* I planted two dozen raspberry plants, hope they grow.
*I am trying not to worry! " The Lord will either calm your storm or allow it to rage while he calms you".

Abide

* Having the Celestial Room all to myself
* Sister Norris so thin, alone, afraid, and blood pressure way too high
* Hugging Hope, we can always abide with each other instantly, she wanted to see Mom
* A sliver bracelet that was not simple enough
* Wild flowers, I think today might be the day to plant
*"Abide, a wordless secret conversation between the soul and God which no longer ends--we keep each other company

* Tom, cut out the centers of the picture frames for me, a wonderful mother's day gift
* A telephone call with Grandma, Kelly and Jamie. Oh I wish I could fly!
* Ear rings, chocolate strawberries, a family tree, a dainty charm bracelet, pictures, and then to top if off a very unexpected mother's day card next to my bed from Matt. My blessings are many!
* Colossians 3:16 ". . . singing with grace in your heart to the Lord."

The nest

We found five robin blue, tiny eggs in a nest by the barn. By night a tremendous storm developed. Tom and I normally sleep spread out in out bed, but as the night became wild, we snuggled closer and closer. The big heavy hutch on the back porch that Tom and Jamie made for Matt for Christmas blew over in a mighty crash, we moved closer. The electricity went out, and the house became cold. The wind and rain didn't seize. A giant cottonwood tree blew over and took out the electricity lines, by now we are were snuggled as tight as possible. We woke to a dark snow day, with no telephone, water, no lights or warmth. I climbed over the fence with a bucket to scoop water out of the pond to flush the toilet. I am thankful for the pond, for a toilet, a stored water bottle, two layers of clothing and a coat. I am thankful for Tom. He always makes me feel safe.I am thankful for this beautiful Wallsburg Nest we have created. At night we said a oh so thankful prayer. Thank you for the many things I take for granted.

"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things. . ." Alma 26:12
